San Diego (Chinese: 圣地亚哥)
Our San Diego trip came with unexpected company—rain. Some people enjoy the cozy mood (like my husband Congkai); others (like me) would prefer a sun-drenched boardwalk. I’ve never been a fan of gloomy weather, and this trip just confirmed it. The sushi? Looked nice, tasted okay, but my stomach said nope.
Yakitori, though, never disappoints. Grilled over charcoal, juicy and savory—always a comfort food win. I especially love the “weird” parts of the chicken—hearts, skin, cartilage—the ones that might make my American friends raise an eyebrow. But hey, more for me!
